Tyla Stuns in Bold Pink Tweed Chanel – A Look That Turns Heads!

Rock your pink just like Tyla. The South African star attended the Chanel Autumn/Winter 2025 show at Paris Fashion in a chic pink tweed Chanel outfit.

Put Tyla in Chanel, and she’ll make it a moment. The South African Grammy singer attended the Chanel Autumn/Winter 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week, and of course, she showed up looking chic.

The show, held at the Grand Palais, unveiled Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection, and Tyla stepped out in a pink tweed ensemble that was both classic and fresh. She wore a fitted, cropped bustier-style top with a structured, corset-like fit, paired with a matching mini skirt featuring gold button detailing along the sides. The skirt, tailored to perfection, added a fun yet polished touch.

Over her shoulders, she draped a matching pink tweed jacket with long sleeves and gold button accents. The relaxed styling gave her look an easy elegance.

For accessories, she kept it striking with a statement diamond necklace featuring the Chanel logo spelled out both horizontally and vertically. Matching logo earrings and a sleek black handbag added just the right contrast to the all-pink ensemble.

This look was Chanel through and through, and Tyla wore it like it was made for her.

How African Creatives Can Build Capacity for Global Impact

The creatives who last are the ones who shape narratives, not just participate in them. They don’t just ride trends; they define them.

By: Winn Arinze

There’s a hard truth that most African creatives aren’t ready to hear: talent is not enough. In fact, talent is the baseline, the ticket to entry. The real game, the one that determines whether your name echoes beyond your Instagram followers or fizzles out after a moment of hype, is about capacities.

You see it all the time – an artist goes viral, a writer trends, a fashion designer gets a lucky break. Everyone screams, “Africa to the world” but then, six months later? Crickets. Why? Because influence without capacities is a castle built on sand.

If you’re serious about leaving a significant mark, not just being a one-hit wonder, then keep reading. This is the blueprint for African creatives who want sustainable influence; the kind that outlives algorithms, market trends, and even their own lifetime.

The Difference Between Visibility and Influence

There’s a reason we don’t say “visibility is power”. Influence, not just visibility, is the real currency of the global stage. You can have 500,000 followers and still struggle to sell out a 100-person event. You can go viral and still be broke because visibility is people seeing you; influence is people acting because of you.

And the difference? Capacities.

When Burna Boy, Trevor Noah, or Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie speak, the world listens. They don’t just have followers; they have global leverage. Their words, actions, and creative output shift culture, shape conversations, and command premium opportunities.

How? They built influence, assets, relationships, and social grandeur — four core elements in the capacities framework that every African creative needs. Let’s break them down.

Influence: Owning Your Narrative and Authority

Influence isn’t about being loud; it’s about being irreplaceable. If people can swap you out for the next trending name, you’re not influential, you’re a placeholder.

The creatives who last are the ones who shape narratives, not just participate in them. They don’t just ride trends; they define them.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I want to be known for beyond my craft?
  • Am I speaking, creating, and moving in ways that reinforce my authority?
  • Do I control my image or am I at the mercy of the internet’s short attention span?

Until you intentionally craft your legacy, you’re just renting influence, and landlords can evict you at any time.

Assets: The Power of Ownership

If you don’t own anything, you don’t control anything. If all your work is on platforms you don’t own, your career is an illusion of stability.

Think of Rihanna. Music gave her visibility, but Fenty gave her billionaire status. Jay-Z said it best: “I’m not a businessman; I’m a business, man.”

Ownership is your insurance policy against irrelevance. This is why African creatives must shift from talent-based influence to asset-based influence.

Start asking:

  • Do I own my content, or does an algorithm?
  • Can I monetise my work in multiple ways, beyond just sponsorships?
  • Is my brand an ecosystem, or am I just an entertainer?

Because when the industry gatekeepers change, owners stay, tenants leave.

Relationships: Proximity Is Leverage

You can be the most talented person in the room, but if you’re in the wrong room, it doesn’t matter. Your network isn’t just your net worth, it’s your trajectory.

Look at the biggest African success stories. They didn’t just “grind hard”, they built the right alliances.

Burna Boy and Diddy.
Tems and Future.
Davido and Chris Brown.

It’s not luck; it’s strategy. Relationships open doors that hard work alone cannot.

So, ask yourself:

  • Am I intentionally building a global network, or just staying local?
  • Do the people in my circle elevate me or keep me stagnant?
  • If I disappeared today, who would fight to keep me relevant?

Because opportunity doesn’t just find you, you position yourself for it.

Social Grandeur: The Art of Perception

African creatives underestimate this one. Social Grandeur is not clout, it’s controlled perception. It’s the difference between being seen as an artist and being seen as an icon.

Beyoncé rarely gives interviews. That’s intentional. Burna Boy moves with a calculated mystery. That’s branding. When Pharrell stepped into the Louis Vuitton role, he wasn’t the “best designer” — he was the best-positioned cultural architect.

Perception determines value. If you don’t curate how the world sees you, the world will decide for you. And trust me, you won’t like the version they choose.

To build Social Grandeur:

  • Be selective about your appearance. Exclusivity increases value.
  • Craft a signature style that makes you recognisable beyond just your work.
  • Learn the power of mystique. Not everything needs to be shared online.

Because the world doesn’t just reward talent, it rewards the illusion of greatness.

Final Thoughts: The Creatives Who Will Win

If you want to be part of the African creatives who make global impact, not just local noise, then understand this:

capasities separate legends from fads.

  • Influence makes your voice matter.
  • Assets make your power sustainable.
  • Relationships make your growth inevitable.
  • Social Grandeur makes your presence unforgettable.

Most creatives will wait for opportunity. The smart ones will build capasities so opportunity chases them. Which one will you be?

The film’s primary mission is to raise awareness about the pressing issue of social harassment faced by young girls, many of whom suffer in silence.

The Vision Behind the Film

The film is produced and directed by Jameson Thermitus, a renowned Haitian fashion photographer, filmmaker, and entrepreneur. Thermitus, the founder of Ayisee Stock an innovative platform for authentic imagery and Pamevent, a ticketing service dedicated to Haitian events, is committed to showcasing Haitian culture through visual storytelling. Jameson Thermitus

The exclusive event, held on Friday evening, was organized by the Haiti Embassy in France. Stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, filmmakers, and cinema enthusiasts gathered at the Haiti Embassy in Paris, France, for the premiere.

Exclusive Interview with Jameson Thermitus

In an exclusive interview with Trendz Nigeria editor and publisher, Jameson Thermitus shared insights into the film’s inspiration, challenges, and future aspirations.

What inspired the creation of this movie?

“We’ve seen young girls endure social harassment, often suffering in silence. I wanted to shed light on this issue and create a story that could inspire those facing similar struggles. Une Seconde Chance is a reminder that life doesn’t end with hardship there’s always an opportunity to rebuild, heal, and move forward. Through this film, I hope to ignite conversations and offer hope to those who feel lost.”

When can audiences expect to see the film in theaters?

“We are actively working on making that happen. Our goal is to bring Une Seconde Chance to a wider audience, whether through film festivals, exclusive screenings, or major streaming platforms. We want to ensure it gets the exposure it deserves, so we are taking the necessary steps to make it accessible to as many people as possible.”

How many languages will the film be subtitled in?

“The film is currently in French, but we are working on English subtitles to expand its reach. Our goal is to make the story as accessible as possible because its themes resilience, redemption, and the power of second chances are universal. If possible, we would love to explore additional languages in the future to connect with an even broader audience.”

What challenges did you face during the filmmaking process?

“I wouldn’t necessarily call them hurdles I see them as challenges that fuel motivation. Filmmaking, especially in Haiti, comes with its own set of obstacles, from logistical issues to securing the right resources. However, passion and perseverance kept us going. We worked with a dedicated team who believed in the story, and together, we found creative solutions to make things happen.”

Who is the film’s target audience?

“I would love to connect with everyone because Une Seconde Chance carries a message that is relevant to all. However, I especially hope it resonates with young people, women, and anyone who has ever felt trapped by circumstances beyond their control. The film is about hope, resilience, and self-worth things that everyone, regardless of background, can relate to.”

Can you tell us about the film’s cast?

“Our cast did an incredible job bringing this story to life. We have Bernie C. Desaille and Ricardo Valcourt, both of whom deeply connected with their characters. Though it was their first experience in film, their dedication and raw talent truly elevated the project. They embodied their roles with authenticity, making the emotions feel real and relatable to the audience.”

What exciting projects do you have in the pipeline?

“We are still planning, but one of our main goals is to develop a limited series. This would allow us to keep the momentum going and provide opportunities for more actors and creatives to be part of something impactful. Our focus remains on storytelling that matters projects that entertain but also inspire and spark conversations.”

Among the distinguished guests was Shana Maksodouva, CEO of Rive Gauche Paris Rive Droite Magazine, who graced the premiere alongside other notable attendees.

“My GOAT” – Davido Snubs Lookman, Boniface, Endorses 35-Capped Super Eagles Star

Davido Declares Victor Osimhen as His Greatest of All Time

Nigerian music superstar Davido has publicly proclaimed Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as his greatest of all time (GOAT), sparking discussions among football fans and analysts, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen Earns Davido’s Backing

With this public endorsement, the four-time Grammy nominee seemingly overlooked other prominent Super Eagles stars, including Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface, despite their impressive performances on the international stage.

Osimhen, a former LOSC Lille forward, has been one of Nigeria’s most outstanding footballers in recent years. With 35 caps for the Super Eagles, he played a crucial role in Napoli’s Serie A title triumph and has been a key figure in the national team, scoring 21 goals to become Nigeria’s second all-time highest goal scorer.

Social Media Post Sparks Debate

Davido’s admiration for Osimhen became evident in a recent social media post, where he reshared a picture of the Napoli striker with the simple caption, “My GOAT.” This post followed Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory against Gaziantep, a match where Osimhen, despite not scoring, proved to be a constant menace to the opposition’s defense.

Snub to Lookman and Boniface?

The singer’s declaration comes at a time when both Lookman and Boniface have been in exceptional form. Lookman played a decisive role in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph, while Boniface was instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga victory. Despite their contributions, Davido’s preference for Osimhen highlights the strong bond between the two.

Osimhen recently attended Davido’s wedding reception with Chioma, and the two have been spotted together at various events, further cementing their friendship. This close relationship may have influenced Davido’s public endorsement of the Napoli star over his Super Eagles teammates.

Farida Yahya: A Letter To My 40-Year-Old Self

To my dearest 40-year-old self,

It’s the brink of a new year, I am enveloped by a tumult of emotions—anticipation, apprehension and a hint of uncertainty. Yet, through it all, an enduring sense of hope emerges. This letter serves as a communication from your current self, a reminder of the aspirations we have cultivated and the person we are endeavouring to become.

I am reflecting on the burdens of our past, the haunting memories of trauma that almost shaped our identity. I encourage you to recall the bravery you discovered within to embark on your healing journey. It was no simple task. There were days filled with shadows, and times of hopelessness when you doubted your resilience. Yet, you carried on. You turned to therapy for support, found warmth in the presence of those who empathised, and gradually, with great effort, you started to reconstruct your sense of self. You came out stronger, more resilient and with a deeper connection to who you are.

Remember that vision you had about uplifting women entrepreneurs? You put your heart into building a fund that didn’t just offer financial help but also provided mentorship, guidance, and a community of support. It was amazing to see how your hard work paid off as so many women transformed into thriving business owners, their confidence skyrocketing and their dreams taking off.

Your entrepreneurial spirit took off like a rocket. What started as a personal journey into natural haircare turned into a booming business. You created innovative products that honoured the beauty of all hair types, offering nourishment and empowerment. Your brand became a beacon of self-love, individuality, and a challenge to the status quo. You built a community around your brand, creating a space where everyone felt they belonged and celebrated their unique beauty. You emerged as a leader and an inspiration, proving just how powerful it is to chase your dreams with relentless passion.

Amidst the triumphs and the grind, you never forget the importance of love. You opened your heart again, allowing yourself to experience the joy of companionship, the warmth of intimacy, and the comfort of a loving embrace. You learned to trust again, to cherish the beauty of vulnerability, and to find solace in the arms of someone who cherished your soul as deeply as you cherished theirs.

The woman you are becoming is a testament to your strength, resilience, and your unwavering spirit. You are a survivor, a creator, a leader and a lover. You are a beacon of hope, a component of evidence of the extraordinary power of the human spirit. Most importantly, you are not a fool at 40, like you feared.

As we continue this sojourn, never lose sight of your dreams. Embrace the challenges, learn from the setbacks and never stop believing in yourself. You are capable of achieving greatness beyond your wildest imagination. We are only just getting started. Wear this age with grace, and let your light shine.

With unwavering love and belief,

Your present self.
