Love Rekindled: Goodness and Adeola’s Journey to Forever

Goodness and Adeola’s love story, a beautiful testament to the power of faith, friendship, and destiny. From a simple introduction in church to a journey filled with growth, separation, and eventual reunion, their bond has flourished in a way that inspires all who know them. As they prepare to walk down the aisle and spend the rest of their lives together, their pre-wedding photos reflect the depth of their connection, radiant smiles, shared chemistry, and an unwavering love that is nothing short of heartwarming.

A Serendipitous Meeting

By the Groom, Goodness:

“It all began in October 2021, when a good friend of mine invited me to a church program. There, I met Adeola. Our first encounter was pleasant but nothing to write home about we exchanged greetings, had small talk, and moved on with our lives. At that time, we didn’t think much of each other, but little did we know that our paths were destined to cross again.”

“Over the next few months, Adeola and I continued to see each other at church and through mutual friends. By 2022, our interactions grew more frequent, and what started as a casual acquaintance began to blossom into a genuine friendship. We found comfort, laughter, and understanding in each other’s presence, and it didn’t take long before we decided to take the next step and pursue a relationship.”

The Rollercoaster of Love

In the beginning, dating was exciting. We shared new experiences, enjoyed each other’s company, and grew closer with each passing day. But as with many relationships, challenges arose. By October 2022, we both began to question if we were truly meant to be together, and we decided to part ways. Believing that we were better off apart, we tried to move on by seeing other people.

Despite our best efforts, something was always missing. The connection we shared was unique, and neither of us could shake the feeling that we hadn’t experienced anything quite like it with anyone else. In 2023, after several months apart, we realized that we wanted to reconnect, even if only as friends.

Rekindling the Flame

When we reconnected, it was with cautious optimism. We started off slow, but our bond quickly reignited, as if we had never been apart. The friendship we had once shared returned effortlessly, but this time, it felt different. There was a newfound depth and warmth in our connection, and we felt a peace and purpose that hadn’t been there before. Late-night conversations became a regular occurrence as we reflected on our journey and the divine forces that seemed to keep bringing us back together.

It was in these moments that we realized our relationship had grown in ways we never anticipated. What we once thought was a simple love story had become a journey filled with purpose. We had been prepared for each other in ways we could not have imagined. And, by the end of 2023, we both knew that our hearts were meant to be intertwined for life.

A Love Built on Faith

What makes our love story so special is not the dramatic highs or grand gestures, but rather the quiet faith we have in each other and in God’s plan for us. Through the ups and downs, we never questioned that we were meant to be together. Every step, every challenge, and every moment apart had drawn us closer, refining our bond and preparing us for a future together.

As we look ahead, we are filled with excitement for the life that lies ahead of us. Our love has been built on faith, intentionality, and a belief that God’s timing is always perfect. And now, as we prepare to say “I do,” we know with certainty that we are ready to face the rest of our lives as partners, best friends, and soulmates.

Pre-Wedding Shoot

The pre-wedding shoot beautifully encapsulates their journey, each photo showcasing their radiant smiles and the undeniable chemistry they share. From the glimmer of excitement in their eyes to the moments of quiet reflection, these images reflect not just their love, but the deep connection that has grown between them over time.

Davido Donates 300 Million Naira to Orphanages and Anti-Drug Campaigns on his 32nd Birthday

Fans and supporters of Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, have showered him with praise after he announced a generous 300-million-naira donation to orphanages and organizations tackling drug abuse among young Nigerians.

The announcement was made on Monday ahead of his 32nd birthday on November 21.

A Tradition of Giving Back

In a post shared on his social media page X (formerly known as Twitter), Davido revealed his plans to mark his birthday with a significant charitable contribution. The Grammy-nominated artist wrote:

“Once again, my birthday this year, we are donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse and addiction. This year, it’s 300m. Details to follow soon.”

This is in line with Davido’s ongoing tradition of using his birthday to give back to society. In previous years, he has made goodwill donations to orphanages through his foundation, further cementing his commitment to helping vulnerable communities.

Social Media Reactions

The announcement quickly went viral, with fans and supporters on social media expressing their admiration for Davido’s generosity. Many praised him for using his success and fame to positively impact society.

One fan, egungunn, wrote: “I don’t have 300 million but at least I will support businesses with 2 million on Davido’s birthday. That’s massive…we rise by lifting others here.”

Another supporter, RealCheeta, expressed his appreciation, saying: “Wow! That’s really great of you! Your commitment to making a difference in the lives of others is truly inspiring. I can’t wait to hear more about the details and how we can help support this cause.”

AfrokonnectNG added: “This is truly inspiring! Davido is showing what it means to use fame and success for a greater purpose. Supporting orphanages and tackling issues like drug abuse and addiction shows a deep commitment to making a positive impact in our communities. Big respect to him for this generous contribution—it’s actions like these that really make a difference.”

Continuing the Charitable Legacy

This is not the first time Davido has used his birthday as an occasion for philanthropy. In 2021, he kickstarted the tradition by raising over 200 million Naira from his fans, after sharing his bank account details on social media. The funds were subsequently donated to orphanages across Nigeria in celebration of his 29th birthday.

In 2022, Davido founded the Davido Adeleke Foundation with the support of other charitable organizations. The foundation focuses on helping vulnerable children, and by 2023, it had donated over 200 million Naira to orphanages, benefiting 13,818 children.

A Legacy of Giving Back

Davido’s generosity has continued to set an example for others in the entertainment industry, with many fans urging other Nigerian artists to follow his lead. One fan, dan-02, remarked, “Davido is one out of Nigerian music artistes who always give back to society. I just hope others will follow his footsteps.”

As Davido celebrates his 32nd birthday, his donation highlights his ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations. His actions not only shine a light on critical social issues such as drug abuse but also encourage others to use their platform for the greater good.

G20 Rio Summit: Nigeria Leads Africa Beyond Rhetoric

By Temitope Mustapha

The 19th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20), held at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, brought together world leaders from developed and emerging economies.

The two-day summit represented a broader range of views and marked the first full G20 summit with the African Union as a member.  This followed the continent’s inclusion during the 2023 summit as well as the participation of the European Union, the International Monetary Fund and other multilateral organizations.

The Brazil Presidency of the G20 Summit had as its theme three main priorities. These are social inclusion and the fight against hunger, energy transition and sustainable development, environmental aspects and the reform of the global governance institutions.

The G20 Leaders’ Summit launched the Global Alliance against hunger and poverty, with ratification of 148 founding members of the global alliance. The initiative is to accelerate the process of eradicating hunger and poverty towards the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event provided the opportunity for Nigeria to reclaim its position as the giant of Africa on the global platform following the invitation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Brazil’s President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

At the summit, Nigeria endorsed the G20 alliance against hunger and poverty initiative as a significant step in the nation’s efforts to address hunger and poverty by leveraging international cooperation and resources to accelerate the realization of domestic strategies.

Nigeria’s leadership for Africa at the Rio G20 summit pursued meaningful change for African nations in the increased inclusion of the continent in the G20 cartel. As President Tinubu asked for deliberate support for Africa, he insisted that the neglect of Africa is a danger to humanity.

Nigeria demanded an inclusion that would advance Africans beyond the rhetoric of sourcing for pathways for sustainable development, debt relief, and climate resilience. Nigeria’s contribution signifies its willingness to join in addressing global challenges.

At the 2024 Rio G20 meeting, President Tinubu ceased the chance to present a statement that fronted a common ground on the several economic, climate and funding challenges hindering Africa from realizing its potentials.

Additionally, the summit offered Nigeria a platform to advocate for permanent membership in the G20, believing that Nigeria’s inclusion would strengthen the continent’s representation in global economic discussions and decision-making.

Addressing the 19th session of the G20 Leaders Summit, President Tinubu asked the World leaders to back their promises with actions in providing support to Africa to end hunger and poverty on the continent.

The Nigerian leader also used the G20 summit to preside over the signing of a $2.5 billion Letter of Intent between the Nigerian government and JBS S.A., a Brazilian company and one of the top three largest meat processing companies in the world.

Nigeria’s engagement with the G20 countries creates new vistas of bilateral and multilateral pacts with the potential to advance economic growth, boost infrastructure and create opportunities for socio-economic reform.

Fostering collaboration between governments, international organizations, and investors, Nigeria and the rest of Africa will leverage the global alliance against hunger and poverty initiative to adopt a comprehensive approach.  This will be geared towards addressing immediate needs of the continent and tackling the structural causes of hunger and poverty.

The 2024 Rio G20 summit, which involves nations of the world that control 85 percent of global wealth, should translate into a vision to redirect all the needed resources to invest towards the realization of social inclusion.

It’s hoped that this would sustain the fight against hunger and provide the window for energy transition towards sustainable development that would guarantee the reform of the global governance institutions for a better world.

Nigeria’s GDP Grows by 3.46% in Q3 2024

Nigeria’s economy expanded by 3.46% in real terms in the third quarter of 2024, marking a notable improvement over both the previous quarter and the same period last year.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the growth rate for Q3 2024 surpassed the 2.54% recorded in Q3 2023 and also exceeded the 3.19% growth seen in Q2 2024.

Services Sector Leads Growth

The NBS Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Report for Q3 2024 highlighted that the services sector was the primary driver of this positive performance. The sector grew by 5.19%, contributing a significant 53.58% to the total GDP. This growth in services marks an ongoing trend of the sector becoming a larger contributor to the Nigerian economy, as compared to the same period in 2023.

Agriculture and Industry Show Mixed Results

The agriculture sector experienced a modest growth of 1.14% in Q3 2024, slightly down from 1.30% in Q3 2023. Despite this, agriculture continues to play a vital role in the Nigerian economy, though its contribution to GDP growth was relatively subdued during the quarter.

On the other hand, the industrial sector saw an improvement in its performance. It recorded a growth of 2.18% in Q3 2024, up from just 0.46% in the same quarter of the previous year. This increase in industrial output reflects recovery and potential in sectors such as manufacturing and construction.

Nominal GDP Performance

In terms of nominal GDP, Nigeria’s economy continued to show strength. The country’s aggregate GDP at basic price stood at N71.13 trillion in Q3 2024, compared to N60.66 trillion in Q3 2023, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 17.26%. This increase in nominal GDP highlights both the growth in economic activity and the inflationary pressures that have affected prices over the period.
